Dura Seal 400
Dura Seal 400 is appropriate for surfaces that are
relatively flat and will not sustain extreme mechanical abuse and where
high skid resistance is not required. The cost of Dura Seal 400 is
about one-third that of the more expensive Dura Poxy.
You will be delighted
with the cost of a Dura Seal
400 floor. Because we manufacture it ourselves, our price is automatically at least 20% less than that of suppliers who do not.
For example, our 2-gallon container covers
650-800 sq. ft. (depending upon the existing floor surface) and is just $119.98. Our 10-gallon
container is $599.90 and covers
3,250 to 4,000 sq. ft.
Here are the main features of Dura Seal
400:
- Made of 40% epoxy, plus solvents that
evaporate causing some odor during application
- Hard, typically 7 mils thick (two
coats)
- Curing time of 5 to 7 hours
- Easy to work with; faster flowing than
Dura Poxy
- Cannot be used to fill holes
- Comes in a variety of colors

Dura Poxy
Dura Poxy is necessary for floors (or floor areas)
requiring maximum resistance to damage from falling tools, forklifts,
or similar causes of harm. Dura Poxy is also needed for floors
requiring maximum skid resistance such as in wet or frosty environments.
Dura Poxy is also the proper choice for floors with major (greater than 10 mils)
irregularities in the surface or for repairing deep cracks and holes in
floors or vertical surfaces. It is also ideal for steps, truck fenders,
and other non-floor surfaces. Dura Poxy costs about three times as
much as Dura Seal 400 per square foot applied.

Here are the main features of Dura Poxy:
- Composed of 100% epoxy solids, with no
odor during application
- Extremely tough and hard, especially
when strengthened by adding quartz chips; typically 20 mils thick
(with a two-coat application)
- Curing time of 12 to 14 hours
- Can be used to level and fill holes as
it does not shrink during curing process
- Somewhat longer application (labor)
time due to less ease of flowing than Dura Seal 400
- Comes in a variety of colors and
textures created by adding quartz crystals during application
